How to use Scrapebox (The Basics)

Backlinks are quite important. Backlinks help you raise your rank in search engines. So how to make your life a lot easier rather than to manually comment things for hours upon end with no success, anyway? I’ll show you! We’ll be covering how to use Scrapebox.

Scrapebox is an Internet Marketers dream come true. It is probably the most useful tool in your arsenal. It is the integral tool that you will use to make money online; it is not only affordable (for what it will give back for you) but it is a great learning tool, and quite fun!

Scrapebox Information:

Scrapebox originally costs $197 (currently at $97 – I have a coupon/discount code for $57 if you’d like) and it allows you, the person looking for backlinks, to post to hundreds of thousands of blogs in a matter of minutes, check for dofollow and auto-accept blogs, as well as rapidly index your webpage. Great, huh?

How does it work?

Stage 1: Keywords. Let’s say you want to write about “service pack 3 xp” (it is an EMD by the way with some nice monthly searches, at the moment). In the first block (keyword block) you would hit scrape -> keyword scraping. You would place Service Pack 3 XP in the first half and hit scrape.

From there, a long list of keywords would appear (some long tail, others not completely related – that is fine). You can then transfer that back to your main keyword list. The more, the better (usually, for big blasts, anyway).

Stage 2: Proxies. For harvesting blogs, I’d recommend using public proxies. For posting on blogs, I’d recommend private proxies. Though, this last bit is not necessary, it is recommended (they have a much higher chance of sticking, unless you know where to find the right public proxies). Here, you would want to look for lists of public proxies and import the urls to check.

You would want to check for new proxies every time (this can take a while) you want to do a blast, because chances are the ones you used before have been burnt out and blocked by Google. Check to see if the proxies are good.

Step 3: Harvest Blogs. The fun part. In the top row, second column, hit harvest blog. Sit back and enjoy as about 100 results from every single category get harvested into a list. Depending on this list size, this may take a while, but do not worry. It is worth it. After the list is finished, you should check the blogs using addons which you can freely download. The first addon to use is the “Scrapebox Malware and Phishing Filter”;  load the URLs from the harvester and check them all.

Then filter and remove the bad/infested blogs and save to your list. Second addon to use is the Blog Analyzer. Load the URL’s from the harvester and then remove all captcha/bad blogs.

Step 4: Checking the ones that stuck. If you are in a hurry, you should use the backlink checker addon to check for the blogs that have approved your comments. The ones that have, you should save to a list and ping them using an online pinger/indexer. There are free ones available; if you would like more information, just comment below!

A list of Scrapebox Tips

Here is a small list of Scrapebox Tips that I have accumulated over the past little bit while utilizing Scrapebox and its benefits.

1. Use Public Proxies for Harvesting, and Private Proxies for posting (if you make enough profit from these efforts). This will increase your successful posts and avoid akismet.
2. Always run the Malware & Phishing Checker Addon (It can be installed for free) prior to posting. Unless you are fairly confident in your Anti Virus coverage and/or it’s on a virtual machine/os. Though, why risk it?
3. A recommended step is to also run the Blog Analyzer and filter out any bad blogs or captcha blogs. Once done, sort by spam protection and note the last one that is YES to spam protected. Export to your harvester list, find that blog in the list and remove everything above it.
4. Diversify. Do not always target WordPress blogs, and do not always seek out only DoFollow’s or Auto-Accept blogs. This will not look natural to Google.
5. Unless you are REALLY wanting to squeeze out more comments on a few blogs, I’d suggest filtering out Captcha blogs. You’ll burn a whole through your DeathbyCaptcha account.
6. Grab yourself a Bing API key and add bing to your scrapebox. Some people say not to bother but I’ve found many great blogs this way that rank on Bing. These are ripe for the pickings as many Scrapeboxer’s do not bother with this stop.
7. Do not sent 50k comments directly to your domain. This will look bad. I often send comments to 1st/2nd tier backlinks. Whether its from article submissions (check out the Article Marketing Robot blog post), or from SenukeX blasts.
8. Scrapebox default options are a little slow. Screenshot the defaults and increase these. As soon as you notice dropping success rates in the proxy scraper, or even fast poster or anything else, wind them down a bit until you find your sweet spot.
9. Another good reason why not to Direct-Link your money site is because many blogs have akismet. If you are posting 5k comments directly to it, then you may get a permanent URL ban. An extra step to avoid this is getting rid of the spam protected blogs, but.. just be careful.
10. Harvesting public proxies from the public list is annoying. It’s saturated. Find proxy lists through google (or use scrapebox to find them via common scrapebox footprints) and add them to your proxy list. I do *NOT* use the default list on my scrapebox blasts, and can often find well over 600 public proxies for my bigger blasts.
11. Majority of wordpress blogs are NoFollow while BlogEngine and Moveable Type seem to have more DoFollow. This is only an observation that I have noticed.
12. You can use custom footprints like “[0..50] comments” or “[0..50] replies” to filter out the blogs that have well over 50 comments on them on that specific URL. The reason for this is that those blog posts will not be weighed nearly as much as ones with only 4-5 posts with the same PR.
13. In some cases, if you are feeling adventurous, do not believe the blog analyzer/malware checker on the “failed”/”error” blogs. There are plugins which force those errors on programs like Scrapebox to avoid getting spammed/commented on by Scrapebox.
14. Most of the Source list in the Proxies that come with Scrapebox are banned or blacklisted. You can still get some success with it, but I recommend scraping your own public proxy sources for harvesting (and definitely for posting, unless you can afford private ones which’ll help with a much higher success rate). You’ll have to re-harvest these proxies every day, as chances are after a big blast these will IP-blocked.
